Beth

How we got her: I went to a shelter to pickup a foster dog for Patriot Siberian Husky Rescue. I fell in love with Beth, as I have always loved Basset Hounds. I asked for them to take her out of her crate so I could meet her, I spent 5 minutes with her and said I would like to adopt her. I had to run to the ladies room and she started pulling on the leash and crying to get to me, that was the start to her separation anxiety.

How she got her name: When I first brought her home she barked 24/7 and it made me think of the song "Beth" by Kiss. She has since learned that barking is not something that she needs to do.

Some more about her: A reporter was at the house doing a story on the dogs. He asked me what Beth's roll was in our I kennel. I told him that her only roll is that she makes me happy. Her funny antics keep me smiling. Scott will not admit it, but he is also fond of her. When I brought her home I  figured she would live in the house with us. She was dumped at the shelter because she could not be housebroken. We spent months trying to housebreak her, but we were never able to get her housebroken. We built a kennel off the porch for her so she can go out the dog door to do her business, which works well if we keep her area on the porch small.

Her best friend: Beth's best friend is Kyla.

Her favorite thing: Anyone who has watched her for me while I was away will tell you that I'm her favorite thing. Beth suffers from major separation anxiety, and I feel bad leaving her with friends or family when I'm gone.
